Welcome from Principal Wiebers!
Dear St. Patrick Families,
I hope this message finds you and your family well and enjoying a restful summer. As we prepare for the start of another school year, I am excited to welcome you back to St. Patrick Catholic School. Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s academic and faith formation—we are honored to walk alongside your family in this journey.
Our theme for the year is grounded in the words of 1 John 4:19: "We love because He first loved us."
This year brings exciting new blessings to our faith community. Please join me in extending a very warm welcome to Father Dennis Miller, Father Telesphore Dusabe, and Father Joshua Linck as they join our school community and pastorate. We are incredibly grateful for their leadership, pastoral care, and the spiritual guidance they will bring to our students, staff, and families.
At St. Patrick, we believe education goes far beyond academics. As a Catholic school, we are committed to nurturing the whole child and to fostering a community where each student grows in knowledge, faith, and character. With the continued partnership of our dedicated staff and our new priest, we will remain rooted in our Catholic traditions while seeking fresh opportunities to deepen our students’ spiritual lives. Throughout the year, we will gather for Monday morning prayer, celebrate school Masses, participate in retreats and service-learning projects, and support students in their sacramental preparation.
Orientation & Backpack Day
Our school year will officially begin with our Orientation/Backpack Day sessions on Thursday, August 20. Please attend the session that best fits your family's schedule:
Preschool (at Clover Patch): 11:30 a.m. or 5:30 p.m.
Kindergarten through 8th Grade (beginning in Dutcher Gym): 12:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m.
As your principal, I invite you to be actively involved in your child’s learning experience. A strong partnership between home and school is key to student success. We value your engagement in school events, parent-teacher conferences, and any suggestions you may have as we work together to strengthen our school community.
Please also remember that open communication is essential. If you have questions, concerns, or ideas to share, don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher, our office staff, or me directly. Together, we can create an environment of trust, respect, and support for every child.
As we begin this new academic year, let us pray for God’s guidance and protection over our school community. May the Holy Spirit lead us to grow in wisdom, kindness, and love in all we do. On behalf of the entire faculty, staff, and leadership team, I look forward to a year full of learning, faith, and joyful memories.

Important Dates and Info for August

Monday, July 27 through Sunday, August 2 – Tables of free gently used K-Gr. 8 uniform items will be available in the Dutcher Gym. Look here first before you shop during the tax free weekend!
Monday, July 27th through Friday, August 2nd – 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Saturday, August 1st – 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Sunday, August 2nd – 7 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Please take as much as you can use!
If you have used uniform items to donate, your items can be dropped off at the parish office (705 Main St.) during business hours Tuesday, July 21st through Friday, July 24th at 1 p.m. Please bring items in clean plastic or reusable bags to have on hand for the event. The Parish Office is open from 9-1 p.m. daily. For assistance after 1 p.m., ring the doorbell.If you'd like to help sort items, set up or tear down, call or text our Coordinator, Renae McMahon at 319-415-7579.
Tuesday, August 4th –
Final registration materials may be dropped off at the school office from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.Thursday, August 20 – Orientation/Backpack Day. Parents and students choose a session.
Preschool at 11:30 a.m. or 5:30 p.m. at the preschoolK-Gr. 8 at noon or 6 p.m. in the Dutcher Gym
Mr. Wiebers will be in the Dutcher gym to provide important Kindergarten-Gr. 8 information about the upcoming school year, then parents and students will go to homerooms to drop off school supplies and visit with teachers.

Input conferences for parents and guardians to share important information about their Kindergarten-Gr. 8 student(s). These input conferences are tied to our school wide goal of building trusting relationships. K-Gr. 8 - First day of school. Early 1:30 p.m. dismissal.
Input Conferences 2-4:30 p.m. (Sign up link will be coming in August)Clover Patch Preschool - Preschool classes will begin on Tuesday, August 25. Students signed up for daycare may attend on their designated daycare day starting Monday, August 24.Circle of Care (CofC)
CofC opens at 6:45 a.m. After-school CofC closes at 5:30 p.m.Preschoolers attending morning CofC will start at the K-Gr. 8 building and be bussed to Clover Patch around 8:05 a.m. Preschoolers attending after-school CofC will stay at the Clover Patch building. Clover Patch CofC runs from 3:15 to 5:30 p.m.K-Gr. 8 students not attending Circle of Care may enter the playground area no earlier than 7:55 a.m. when supervision begins. Either park and walk your child to the playground or, if your child is prepared to get out quickly, use the drop off lane on Washington St. The bell will ring at 8:05 a.m.
Preschool Daycare
Daycare opens at 8:15 a.m. for all those enrolled in daycare.Daycare ends at 3:15 when CofC begins
BooHoo WooHoo breakfast - CPTO will again host this event for parents in the MPR when K-Gr. 8 students enter the building at 8:05 a.m. Enjoy a cup of coffee and a bite to eat. You can stay and visit, or stay for just a little while, whatever works for you!

Select from these options for completing and returning items required in the yellow section below.
Two ways to fill out forms:- ELECTRONICALLY: Download, fill out electronically, and SAVE completed file to your computer (preferred).
- MANUALLY: Print and fill out by hand.
Four ways to return forms:
- EMAIL the saved, completed digital files (or scanned paper copies) to [email protected].
- MAIL paper forms to St. Patrick School, 615 Washington St., Cedar Falls, IA 50613 to arrive no later than Tues., August 4th.
- DROP OFF paper forms at the school office or in the locked mailbox inside the glass door at 615 Washington on Tuesday, August 4th from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
- Drop off at the St. Patrick Parish office at 705 Main St., open from 9 a.m.- 1p.m.

Steps for Final Registration and Payment

STEP 1: Determine which forms your family will need to fill out. Download, complete, save and return. Enrollment Express (Step 2) must be completed for every student.Form to be downloaded and filled out by ALL Clover Patch Preschool/Daycare families:Form to be downloaded and filled out for ALL STUDENTS in Kindergarten - Gr. 8:Forms to be downloaded and filled out by Kindergarten families:- Kindergarten Student Information Form
- Who's Who in Kindergarten (insert photo)
- Dental screening form for kindergartners only (take this form to your dentist or use one of theirs)
Forms to choose from for Gr. 5-8 Students:- Students entering 7th grade will need updated immunization form on file with the required meningococcal shot (return a copy of the official immunization certificate from your doctor)
- Students interested in athletics need to fill out the Athletic Agreement and the Concussion form.
- If needed, download the Sports Physical Form required annually for athletes, or use your doctor's form
ALL NEW STUDENTS (Preschool-Gr. 8) must have these additional forms on file at school:For new students in Gr. 1-8, some of these items may be sent with your records from your previous school.- Physical and immunization certificate (return a copy from your doctor)
- Federal Ethnicity Form
- Copy of baptismal certificate for K- Gr. 8 students (if applicable)
- Proof of age document for K- Gr. 8 students (copy of birth certificate, form from doctor with birthday, etc.)
Forms for FAMILIES to choose from:- Circle of Care/Day Care Enrollment Form - Preschool-Gr 8 families using before school care (6:45 - 8 a.m.) or after school care (3:20 - 5:30 p.m.)
- Bus Route/Pending Finding a Bus Driver - If you'd like to be added to our bus route (fee applies), but didn't indicate that on your initial enrollment form, contact the office immediately at [email protected] to fill out a Bus Intent Form to be considered for our route.
- Non-Public Transportation Reimbursement Forms - Kindergarten-Gr. 8 non-bus riders living more than 2 miles from St. Patrick School. Choose the appropriate form:
STEP 2: Complete Enrollment Express in PowerSchool (ALL FAMILIES) by July 24th. For liability reasons, Enrollment Express/permissions must be completed annually for your child to attend school.- All new students MUST complete the information under the Home Language Survey
STEP 3: Visit the Nutrition page on our website to see if you are eligible for free or reduced lunch/breakfast.- Many school benefits are based on our free and reduced lunch count. This includes federal funding for remedial reading and math services through the Title I program, grants including the Universal Services Fund for technology, and the Archdiocesan Educational Grant program.
STEP 4: Submit payment.We ask all families to prepay their family lunch and Circle of Care accounts. Deposit funds using one of the following options.- Mail a check to St. Patrick School, 615 Washington St., Cedar Falls, IA 50613.
- Drop off at the school office or in the locked mailbox inside the glass door at 615 Washington on Tuesday, August 5th from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
- Drop off a check to St. Patrick Parish office at 705 Main St., open from 9 a.m. - 1p.m
- Pay online using EZSchoolPay(fee will apply)
